Kevin Leslie

Kevin Leslie has an extensive background in finance, operations and education and has been doing this work for more than two decades. As a finance and operations consultant, he has played a pivotal role in launching nonprofit organizations of all sizes and managing substantial budgets.

Previous roles include director of grants and operations at City Fund and City Fund Action, where he managed annual grant budgets of approximately 100 million dollars. He also served as director of finance and operations at Education Cities, where he provided strategic financial support and managed organizational grants and metrics for the executive team.

Kevin’s career began in library and information science, where he worked as an information services librarian at Rhodes College. He is currently the Board Chair for Journey Community Schools in Memphis, Tennessee.

Moire Carmody

Moire Carmody is a SHRM-Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) with 30+ years of nonprofit experience specializing in HR, operations, and administration. Moire spent 12 years at Bellwether as Director of HR Operations, providing leadership and guidance on HR and operations functions for 115+ employees across 37 states.

Before joining Bellwether, Moire was the Director of Operations at the Lee Family Office and the Barbara Lee Family Foundation, where she created, managed, and directed all human resource and office management functions, as well as managed Barbara Lee’s properties and art collection.

Moire began her career with non-profit organizations at The Public Interest Network working with MASSPIRG, the Fund for Public Interest Research, and the National Association of State PIRGs directing door-to-door canvasses, working on ballot initiatives, managing the flagship Boston office, and recruiting and hiring talented individuals to join the Public Interest Network. Moire holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame, where she majored in Sociology, with a concentration in Peace Studies. She lives outside Boston with her husband, two teenage sons, and a dog.

Melinda Ellis

Melinda Ellis is a seasoned financial leader and business advisor with extensive experience guiding key business decisions through financial analysis, strategic planning, and process improvement. She has served in roles including Chief Financial Officer and Director of Finance, providing actionable insights that drive growth and operational efficiency.

Melinda has successfully managed multimillion-dollar budgets, led organizational audits, and developed clear financial reporting tools to guide executive and board decisions. Her expertise spans financial strategy, compliance, and cross-functional team leadership, with a proven ability to foster stakeholder relationships while delivering accurate, data-driven insights.

Melinda is passionate about education and has worked in educational eco-systems for more than 15 years. Melinda holds a BBA in Accounting, is a Certified Professional Bookkeeper, and Salesforce Administrator. She is committed to supporting mission-driven organizations through sound financial stewardship and strategic execution.
